■ 研究概要
樹木はその内外のさまざまな環境(光環境や力学的環境など)の変化に適応し、体型や内部構造を変化させ、生命活動を維持している。この過程を経て内部に蓄積される木部組織は、非常に有用な天然素材である木材として広く利用されている。本研究室の研究目標は、樹木成長の生理機構をより詳しく明らかにするとともに、その生理機構を材料開発やエネルギー生産などの工学的な利用へとつなげていくことである。
