■ 研究概要

糖やペプチド、DNAなどの天然由来の分子を利用し、高分子材料をつくって、物性や機能性を調べている。中でも、二糖のトレハロースは、興味深い性質を有しており、これを一成分として含む高分子に注目している。この他、未利用資源から得られるペプチドやDNAを利用して新たな材料を創り出す研究も行っている。これらの材料は、生体親和性材料としての応用が期待される。
さらに、関連したゲル材料の補強に関する研究も行っている。
