携帯電話、ディジタル放送、無線LANなど、昨今のディジタル情報、通信分野の発展は、我々の日常生活の様式に大きな変化をもたらした。特にケーブルを必要としない無線通信システムは、今後さらに需要が高まるであろう。高品質なマルチメディア通信を行うために、さらなる高速伝送が求められている次世代移動体通信システムの核となるさまざまな技術に関する研究開発を行っている。
