■ 研究概要

時間と空間は連続的なものですが、ある種の目的には、それを格子状の空間で近似してその上で物理系を定義すると大変に都合が良いことがあります。例えば、通常の時間空間では、ある１点における基本的な物理変数である「場」に関する積分は出来ませんが、格子状の空間では、格子点間の間隔がゼロでない値を持っていることになりますから、それが可能になります。もちろん、フェルミオンを生み出す場がしっくり定義できないとかの欠点はあり、これは、今もって活発な研究対象になっています。今は、格子点間隔が大きい場合に有効な展開級数から、なんとか、連続極限の近似を達成するという一見迂遠なテーマに取り組んでいます。倦むことなく継続してやっていけば、なんとかなるでしょう、根本的な着想に誤りがなければ。
