ヒトは2つの耳でどのようにして音環境情報（音源の方向、距離、種類、個数、意味など）を知覚・理解しているのだろうか。本研究室では、聴覚の情報処理メカニズムの解明と、それにもとづく音環境情報の認識・符号化・提示システムの研究を進めている。また、これらの研究成果の応用として、AV機器、ロボット、セキュリティセンサ、携帯電話、車、補聴器などへの展開をめざしている。
