概要 | Error-based Simulation (EBS) visualizes learners’ mistakes and promotes trial and error. However, when learners face a deadlock, EBS struggles to help them overcome it. Giving correct answers in such situations may disrupt trial-and-error processes. Therefore, it is necessary to support learners during trial-and-error without giving them correct answers. In this study, we confirm the effectiveness of a system based on conventional EBS that provides adaptive auxiliary problems according to learners’ mistakes. We also analyze “self-overcoming,” which allows learners to correct their errors without teacher intervention. Self-overcoming enables learners to continue trial and error with the auxiliary problems even when they are stuck. To verify its effectiveness, we implemented the system in a classroom of 86 third-year junior high school students and analyzed the results. The system logs revealed that self-overcoming occurred, which was also reflected in the improved test scores. |
